Interesting Confederate manufactured canteen with tin spout, made to resemble US canteen, with an old label attached stating "Confederate Canteen / This canteen was gotten in exchange from a Confederate / prisoner by Elijah Lewis, son of Moses P. Lewis, who / died while in service at Milliken's Bend, La." Some research suggests that this is the same Elijah W. Lewis who belonged to Company H of the 67th Indiana Infantry, who died on March 30, 1863 at Milliken's Bend, Louisiana, where the 67th was then stationed at the beginning of the Vicksburg Campaign.
